Skate Into Spring 2008

Many thanks to all our skaters, coaches and parents who helped out with Skate Into Spring 2008!  The show went very well and we were very proud of all of our wonderful skaters who participated.  It was a great way to wrap up our season!  We also collected several bags of food for WAIT House and they were very appreciative.  Look for an article about the club and the show in the GF/Queensbury Weekly edition of the Post Star.  (We'll post it here soon in case you miss it!).

Season's Greetings On Ice 2007 & Holiday Skating Part A Big Success!!  Lots of Food Collected for Wait House!!

Congratulations to all our skaters who participated in Season's Greetings On Ice 2007 on Sun. 12/2/07.  The show was well-attended and was a wonderful success.  Our skaters all did a fantastic job presenting their skills and accomplishments and the entire show was very festive.  The skating party following the show was a wonderful way for everyone to join in the fun and get into the holiday spirit!  In addition, there were several photos and articles in the Post Star, and a nice feature in the Chronicle as well.  PLUS - we were featured on News Channel 8's news on Monday 12/3.

At the show, we collected non-perishable food items for WAIT House, which is a shelter for homeless youth throughout our area, and is operated by the Warren & Washington County Homeless Youth Coalition.  This was a nice chance for us to help out members of the community - many of whom are the same ages as many of our skaters.  We collected 82 items at the show and the folks at WAIT House were very appreciative! We wish to thank all those who contributed to this effort!  Your donations are greatly appreciated.

Sympathies and Best Wishes to Joan Podres and Her Family

Our deepest sympathies go out to Joan Podres and her family.  Joan's husband, Johnny Podres passed away at the age of 75 on Sunday, January 13th after an extended illness.  Joan's mother-in-law, Anna Podres, also passed away at the age of 98 on Nov. 28th.  We extend our thoughts and prayers to Joan and her entire family at this difficult time.   

Sympathies to the Fischer Family

Our thoughts are also with board member Candy Fischer, and her daughters, Adrienne and Alexis at the loss of their mom/grandmother, Eunice Morrill.  We send our best wishes and prayers to her entire family.

Congratulations to Karen and Her Family

GF FSC Professional Karen Short and her husband welcomed a new daughter, Caroline Ansley on April 8th!  Caroline joins big sister Camilla.  Karen reports that Caroline is wonderful and only gets up once during the night!  We wish Karen and her family well and welcome Caroline to our GF FSC family!
