Glens Falls Figure Skating Club
Proudly Celebrating Our 30th Season!
The Glens Falls Figure Skating Club Proudly Presents:
Figure Skaters' Favorites -
A Collection of Recipes From Figure Skaters Around the World

October 2009

For Immediate Release:

The Glens Falls Figure Skating Club is proud to announce the release of FIGURE SKATERS FAVORITES A Collection of Recipes from Figure Skaters Around the World.  This unique cookbook, produced by the club, is a compilation of 450 recipes from over 270 skaters.  Many of the participating skaters are current or past national, world or Olympic competitors and medalists.  Numerous well-known competitive skaters, coaches, judges and professional skaters are included, as are several members of the Glens Falls Figure Skating Club.  A list of contributing skaters is attached.

This cookbook was first conceptualized by Michelle Capron, Club President, approximately four years ago as a possible fundraising project for the club.  The club has been contacting skaters and collecting recipes ever since.  The project really began to blossom as online social networking sites such as Facebook became more popular and it became easier and faster to reach the skaters.  Many of the skaters contributed recipes from their native countries, providing an international flavor to several parts of the book.

Most of the participating skaters have been extremely enthusiastic about the project and many of them contacted other skaters about participating in the project as well!  Several of the participating skaters have already purchased multiple copies of the book as gifts for their friends.

The cookbook was printed by Morris Press and includes a beautiful padded ring binder cover, tabbed category dividers, a pocket page for recipe clippings and notes, a section of helpful hints and cooking tips, and a plastic stand to display the book while cooking.  A brief biography of each participating skater is also included.  The books are available locally from members of the club, or online at SkatersCookbook.com.  Books are $20 each and are available for immediate shipment.
