New for this Season!
Blade Buddies! Blade Buddies is a brand new program in which our Basic Skills skaters can be paired up with older, advanced skaters. The "Senior" Blade Buddies will serve as mentors and skating friends to the "Junior" Blade Buddies. Senior Buddies (skaters ages 12 and up who have completed at least Basic 8) will be paired up with Junior Buddies (skaters age 11 and under or who are Basic Skills skaters). The Senior Buddies will work with the Junior Buddies on skills that the Junior Buddies are learning, encourage their Junior Buddies in their skating progress, cheer for them at tests and events, and just have fun skating together. The club will be holding events from time to time when the Blade Buddies can participate in fun activities together on and off the ice. This new program is a wonderful opportunity for older skaters to develop leadership skills and for the younger skaters to learn more about figure skating and all the fun it has to offer. If we have a high number of applications for the program, we may assign 2-3 Junior Buddies to a Senior Buddy. Each Blade Buddy will received a special Blade Buddies button and magnet with our Blade Buddies Logo on them, as well as a picture of the Junior and Senior Buddies together. If you are interested in participating in the Blade Buddies program, please fill out the Blade Buddy application and submit it to us. We'll introduce you to your new Blade Buddy as soon as we have processed your application! |
